PROJECT: Faculty of Science at Sana'a University, Yemen
Four main objectives were followed when designing the new Faculty of Science building at Sana'a University:
- To bring the Faculty together in one cohesive design
- To create an environment conducive to learning
- To provide an environment where scientific research can flourish
The resulting building has a floor area of approximately 15,400m2 and includes the following facilities; laboratories and preparation rooms, class rooms of various sizes, an amphitheatre, a library, weighing facilities, a studio, a refrigeration rooma and an administration building.
The services that were provided for this project include:
- Topographical survey and Geotechnical investigations
- Environmental impact assessment
- Feasibility studies
- Preliminary and detailed design
- Preparation of technical specifications and bidding documents
- Tender evaluation
