PROJECT: Dubai Metro

2006-2011

Dubai's light rail system is a fully automated rail system serving the city of Dubai and linking the port of Jebel Ali to the city. The network currently consists of two main lines, Red and Green, with further lines planned for the future. At approximately 75km long, almost one third of the network is underground with the rest either at ground level or elevated. With the first stations opening in 2009, expansion of the system continues with final completion of both lines expected in 2012.

Our involvement in this project has included detailed topographical surveys, soil investigations and traffic studies. Our engineering design services have encompassed, traffic circulation layouts, vertical and horizontal sections for intersections, structural and architectural design work, storm and flood water protection design, electrical design and traffic signage studies.

In addition to design work we have also provided technical specifications and drawings, tender preparation, and cost estimation studies.
